I'm home for the Holidays, which means camera access! Here goes the first outfit post in ages, it's a little plain but I got dressed in a hurry, apologies!

Ugh...Finals

It's finals week, which means this is the worst possible time for me to be blogging. I hate to study though, so I did this little thing to waste some time before a Geology final. I know I've been a terrible blogger, but with no camera it's been difficult!

Roses, Roses, Everywhere!

My most enduring memory of childhood is probably of my mother's perfume. She had one bottle of some very old discontinued scent on her dresser for as long as I can remember, and she only wore it maybe twice a year for special occasions. But, when she did wear it, I was enchanted. It smelled musty, like an attic, but nevertheless all I wanted to do was wear some myself. Fast forward to college, when I actually start wearing and collecting perfume. Apparently, I've been rubbing off on my mom lately because she came home with not one, but TWO new fragrances in the past few months. Amazing! And they actually smell wonderful, not like old ladies. I actually find myself borrowing her perfume for nights out when I'm back at home. My favorite of her new scents, though, is definitely Fresh's Cannabis Rose. I just can't get enough! That said, I just bought this great gift set from Sephora for only $45! Especially since Fresh can be so expensive, it's a great deal that includes a body wash, 1oz perfume, and a body cream. I promise, one whiff and you'll be in heaven!

More shoes? Really?!

Crazy hectic day! Taking a quick break from my paper that's due tomorrow (eek!), classes, and advising appointments to show you the boots I bought! So cheap, so cute, and perfect for the chilly Philadelphia weather! I didn't realize what a great boot selection Target has, you should all really check it out!

It was actually relatively chilly today, which makes me so excited for colder weather! I have lots of great new wintery pieces that I want to bust out, including this chunky beret.

Butterflies Galore

Today I wore what is basically a repeat outfit, except I added my cute new scarf! The dress is the blue tshirt dress I posted maybe a week and a half ago.

Compensating

I tried to use my webcam to compensate for my lack of a functioning digital camera, it kind of failed but I really wanted to share this cute tee I got from Urban Outfitters awhile go. It's the perfect amount of slouchy and girly, and some of the proceeds go to a charity that helps Darfur.

Ugh

Guys, I am very frustrated with my lack of blogging lately. My digital camera resurrected itself the other day just long enough for me to take a few outfit pictures and then it died again so that I can't upload them. I am not happy. I did, however, get some pictures taken last night so as soon as my friends post them somewhere I can get to them I promise there will be an outfit post! For now, though, I leave you with a cute little skirt that has a lot of potential!

All Settled In

Well, here I am back in Philadelphia and all settled in my new place. Since I'm bored and waiting for my floor meeting to start I figured I'd post my wish list item for my ideal first day of class outfit.

House Dressing

I wore this yesterday while making a Starbucks run with my mom before starting to put everything I own in the universe in boxes. I'm so excited to move into my apartment at school tomorrow! However, due to my moving, this will probably be the last post til Monday or Tuesday.

Fancy-Shmancy

Tonight was the dinner party I mentioned in an earlier post (Option #1) with my oldest friend and fellow blogger Jamie of The Life and Times of The Uterus Factory and our respective mothers. I decided to wear my new red dress instead of the one I posted earlier as I felt it was just a tad more sophisticated and elegant. Let me tell you, I'm glad I did because I had to work it out to keep up with Jamie's banging sense of style! Check out her blog, its on my blog roll, to see more of her great outfits!

Getting Presentable

Today, I'm meeting my mom at her office for lunch, so I have to look slightly more put together and acceptable than normal. I really don't want to resort to actually putting on office wear though, so instead I'm wearing this dress (which I think is really supposed to be a swim cover up, oops) that I picked up for $8 at Target yesterday. Oh Target, what will I do without you when I go back to school?

Getting Prepared

So, as my summer draws to a close, I end up having less and less clothing available to me as it all gets packed up for school. Which means items that I haven't really been wearing start getting a lot more play in my wardrobe. I loved this top when I bought, but I've probably only worn it about three times. Hopefully my dwindling clothing options will open up a whole new appreciation for my underworn pieces.

Thinking of Autumn

I know, I know, wearing a scarf in summer is so impractical. It's just so light and airy and I couldn't wait to wear it.

Adventures in Romper-land

If there was one item that I promised myself I'd never buy, it was romper. However, after finding one on the sale rack yesterday at Urban Outfitters and trying it on with unanimous friend approval, I caved. I actually really like it. My mom however, does not, and so this outfit is me attempting to wear my romper while appeasing my mother by covering up just a tad. I think next time I'll wear it with a boytank underneath, I envision that being way cuter. So, please excuse my "ehhh" looking first attempt and stay tuned for more adventures in romper-land.

Friend Style

Today was spent shopping with Hope and Jamie in Georgetown. I hadn't been there in the longest time so it was great to see what new stores are getting put in. I can't wait for the American Apparel to open!

Option #1

In about a week I'm going to a fancy-shmancy dinner with some family friends, which means I have about a week to find something completely fabulous to wear. This is option #1, I'll probably post a few more options as soon as I come up with them. Opinions are welcomed!

Lately, the only shoes I've been wearing are my moccasins, which is super surprising to me. When I bought them I sort of felt like they would just be slippers, but I've worn them for at least the past four days straight! I'll start the day off in one pair of shoes, decide my mocs would looks better, and switch. I'm going to try to mix up my shoe wearing a little bit more, it's getting out of hand!

My first ever attempt at wearing a vest, I'm not sure how it's going. I do like this vest a lot, although maybe not on me. I'll have to try it out with some other outfits before I make my final opinion.

Summer Brights

If you've found out anything about me by reading this blog, it's probably that I'm a very simple dresser. I just can't bother with super elaborate outfits, and I like to think you can get the same "wow!" effect with just a few key pieces with special little details. That's why I love this outfit, it has all my favorite summer trends (brights, strappy sandals)without being cluttered.
