I realize this outfit is super boring, but I really wanted to share with you the shoes I have on in this picture. They're absolutely ADORABLE and only cost me $10 at Urban Outfitters because they have a scuff on the toe and I asked for an extra discount off the sale price because they were damaged merchandise. I felt so thrifty and awesome! Have you gotten any great bargains lately?

The Bomber Jacket

Do you ever buy something, promise to love and cherish it forever, and then hate it a week later? I know I do this a lot, most recently with my leather bomber jacket. I bought it over the summer and for the first time in my life actually could not wait for cold weather. However, now that I've been wearing it I absolutely hate it. I wish it was moto style, or a different color, or this or that. My friend and I were talking today about how we do this a lot, with lots of different clothes. Are we freaks, or do you guys do it too?

My most enduring memory of childhood is probably of my mother's perfume. She had one bottle of some very old discontinued scent on her dresser for as long as I can remember, and she only wore it maybe twice a year for special occasions. But, when she did wear it, I was enchanted. It smelled musty, like an attic, but nevertheless all I wanted to do was wear some myself. Fast forward to college, when I actually start wearing and collecting perfume. Apparently, I've been rubbing off on my mom lately because she came home with not one, but TWO new fragrances in the past few months. Amazing! And they actually smell wonderful, not like old ladies. I actually find myself borrowing her perfume for nights out when I'm back at home. My favorite of her new scents, though, is definitely Fresh's Cannabis Rose. I just can't get enough! That said, I just bought this great gift set from Sephora for only $45! Especially since Fresh can be so expensive, it's a great deal that includes a body wash, 1oz perfume, and a body cream. I promise, one whiff and you'll be in heaven!

My digital camera resurrected itself the other day just long enough for me to take a few outfit pictures and then it died again so that I can't upload them. I am not happy. I did, however, get some pictures taken last night so as soon as my friends post them somewhere I can get to them I promise there will be an outfit post! So, as my summer draws to a close, I end up having less and less clothing available to me as it all gets packed up for school. Which means items that I haven't really been wearing start getting a lot more play in my wardrobe. I loved this top when I bought, but I've probably only worn it about three times. Hopefully my dwindling clothing options will open up a whole new appreciation for my underworn pieces.

Adventures in Romper-land

If there was one item that I promised myself I'd never buy, it was romper. However, after finding one on the sale rack yesterday at Urban Outfitters and trying it on with unanimous friend approval, I caved. I actually really like it. My mom however, does not, and so this outfit is me attempting to wear my romper while appeasing my mother by covering up just a tad. I think next time I'll wear it with a boytank underneath, I envision that being way cuter. So, please excuse my "ehhh" looking first attempt and stay tuned for more adventures in romper-land.

Lately, the only shoes I've been wearing are my moccasins, which is super surprising to me. When I bought them I sort of felt like they would just be slippers, but I've worn them for at least the past four days straight! I'll start the day off in one pair of shoes, decide my mocs would looks better, and switch. I'm going to try to mix up my shoe wearing a little bit more, it's getting out of hand!

If you've found out anything about me by reading this blog, it's probably that I'm a very simple dresser. I just can't bother with super elaborate outfits, and I like to think you can get the same "wow!" effect with just a few key pieces with special little details. That's why I love this outfit, it has all my favorite summer trends (brights, strappy sandals)without being cluttered.

I feel like I'm getting a little bit more used to the new hair, it's been so long since I've had bangs though that they are going to be a major adjustment. I felt very summery today in my yellow dress, but I'm not sure how I feel about the belt. Belting something always makes me feel awkward, for whatever reason. At least I get to enjoy the sunshine!

I woke up late today had about five seconds to throw an outfit together before I had to head out the door, I think for the amount of time I put in it's pretty acceptable. My haircut, however, I'm not thrilled with. Especially for the amount I paid! This is definitely the last time I take my mom's advice on a hairstylist. I can't wait to go back to school so I can get my hair cut by my trusty stylist there instead!

Both of these items (top and skirt) are from the Richard Chai line for Target, they're so adorable and well made! This is definitely by far my favorite Go International collaboration so far, I've actually never even been tempted to buy anything from that line before but I got three items in one sitting yesterday! I also got a great blue blazer, but it's pretty warm so pictures of that might have to wait until more fall weather rolls in!

I went back to school shopping today with my mom and dropped over $100 on stuff at Target. I wouldn't have spent nearly as much but the new Richard Chai line is just so cute that I had to snap up 3 amazing pieces. I'll try and make a "just purchased" post tomorrow. Just got back from thrifting at Unique Thrift in Falls Church, VA. Someone told me it's the biggest thrift store in Northern Virginia and after being in there, I believe it! That place is HUGE! It's almost a problem how big it is, it would take a couple of days to sort through everything in there and it's very hit or miss. The prices were pretty good though and I bought a really cute mens workshirt that is going to look great belted over tights!

Allow me to preface this post by saying that yes, I know that my pictures suck. I'll hopefully start getting nice ones as soon as I convince Jamie that I'm in desperate need of her super nice camera and lovely photography skills. So stay tuned. I know, though, that my lack of style picturs is basically the downfall of this blog so I took some crappy ones just to tide you over until the nice ones start rolling in. I'm going to Philadelphia for three days on Thursday to visit the boyfriend and all my school friends and I can't wait! Of course, like the lame fashion obsessed person that I am I have all my outfits planned already and I thought you'd like to take a look!

Day One: Arriving and dinner with school friends

You'll have to excuse what a hot mess I look in these pictures, I worked that day so I basically put zero effort into looking nice. I like this outfit because its super comfy but still nice enough for dinner and it'll make a nice impression on my boyfriend when I get off the train. I'd love to pair this with my black patent heels, but as Rich is already two inches shorter than I am I'll probably stick to flats.

Day Two: Sightseeing and lounging around

I'm planning on dragging Rich downtown and to museums so I needed something chill and comfortable that I could wear out in the nasty weather and not really worry about. I really feel like the shoes make this outfit, I absolutely adore them!!

Day Three:

This is the day I'm going home, boo. I'll probably be exhausted and I probably won't feel like putting in very much effort so this is nice and easy. I'll probably add the necklace and shoes from Day One.

So, as I had a pretty bad day yesterday, I spent last night looking at the Urban Outfitters website and investing in a little retail therapy. Which, while it did make me feel a lot better, was not good for me in the money department. I promise to reign in my spending, I really do!

Since the power was out at my day job today (sadly, the power was still working at my night job), I ran across the street to Barnes and Noble to pick up a notebook for to-do lists, assignments I need to keep track of, and various ideas and doodles. I found this super cute journal that's part of an entire line of journals and other paper products designed by students at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I got an adorable matching pencil case too, I'm going to be so organized next semester!

Ok, first post! I realize my blog is super ugly right now, but I'm terrible at photoshop so it's going to have to stay lame til I go back to school at the end of the month and get my boyfriend to make it pretty for me. Also, until my family gets back from vacation on Sunday I won't be able to upload any photos as they have the digital camera. Problems abound! However, I'm starting now anyways because I'm impatient! So, in order to put something in this space, I'm going to rundown my top five beauty products that I can't live without.

1. I adore moisturizer. It's probably the only thing I'd want on a desert island, and this gives me lots of moisture plus it evens out my skin. It's magical!

2. The other thing I love is eye makeup. I do the same makeup every day because I'm too lazy/untalented to learn how to do it differently and I spend enough time trying to pick out clothes that putting on my makeup super fast is a must. This color is great because it brings out my brown eyes and adds soft color without being "HEY, LOOK AT MY GREEN EYESHADOW!"

3. What face is complete without mascara? No face! This doesn't clump and makes my tiny eyelashes look super lush.

4. Yes, I admit it. I get oily. This, though, keeps my face matte all day.

5. Everybody needs a signature scent and this has been mine since December (it's the first perfume i've ever owned, if you can believe that!). Perfectly spicy and unique.
